Today’s challenge was an interesting one. We had to do math. We had to multiply our birth year by 5 then subtract 1357 then take that picture from the prompt library and make it our own. Example 1966×5 -1357= 8473. We have a library of prompts that we can use any time we want on our Discord channel. I chose one of a model and decided to turn it more alien.
9/20/26 “Chameleon Alien”
Mine won, so I got to make up the next one. 💡 LAMP LIGHT 💡
Create an original image featuring a lit lamp.
That’s it. That’s the challenge. Your lamp can be electric, oil-burning, battery-operated, solar-powered, antique, futuristic, fancy, humble, or imaginary. Place it anywhere, anytime, in any culture, weather, mood, genre, or artistic style. The lamp can dominate the image or be a tiny point of light in an enormous scene.
The only requirement: There must be a lamp, and it must be lit. Ideas:
A miner’s headlamp revealing something unexpected deep inside a cavern.
An old kerosene lantern glowing in the window of a remote cabin during a thunderstorm.
A deep-sea civilization using strange bioluminescent creatures as living lamps.
A ridiculous luxury lamp illuminating an extremely unimpressed cat. 😂
9/21/26 “After Lights Out”
The next challenge was to depict a comedy sit-com set in the 1980s. The scene could show the live studio audience or it is being watched on an old analog television set. We could make up our own comedy show.
9/22/26 “Family Matters Most – Season 2 – Episode 9 – The Boombox”
The next challenge was to create our own creature in a pulp art style with comic paint. I really like how mine turned out.
9/23/26 “Pretty Monster”
The next challenge was probably in honor of Halloween season. We had to include a witch, a vintage taxi, and high-end horror fashion (whatever that means.)
9/24/26 “Where To?”
Today’s challenge was a romance novel cover with a human in love with something inanimate. This office worker is in love with the printer.
9/25/26 “It’s Complicated”
Mine won, so I made up the next challenge. I chose 🎨 THE PAINT IS ALL MIXED UP 🎨 Create an ordinary, recognizable scene—but give the world completely unexpected colors. Grass might be blue, water purple, clouds black, trees orange, skin green, snow pink, or the daytime sky brilliant red. Any style, any subject, but make us believe this really is the natural color of this strange world. Let the characters picnic on pink grass, swim through purple water, walk beneath turquoise clouds, or watch an orange river flow by without giving it a second thought.
9/26/26 “Chromatic Malfunction”
And here are some of the honorable mentions that I did not submit, but still published on my art website:
