This first challenge of the week was to create art where weather exists inside a person, animal, room or object—but nowhere else.

The next challenge was titled “The Person Who Feels Like Home.” The idea was to show emotional connection and warmth, belonging and trust in an image.

8/3/26 “BFFs”

The next challenge was about transformation and that moment when a solid, liquid, or gas is changing to another state. I chose the word becoming flesh, story coming to life, ink turning from solid to liquid to smoke and on to another transformation.

8/4/26 “Alchemy of Story”

The next day’s challenge was to depict a cause that we support or that is close to our hearts. I chose protection of pregnant women. 25% of women globally experience violence at the hands of their romantic partners when they are pregnant or postpartum. Pregnant women are 40% more likely to be murdered than non-pregnant women. 65% of all pregnant women who are murdered die at the hands of a current or former intimate partner. 80% of domestic violence survivors who own pets report that their abusive partner has threatened, harmed, or killed their companion animals (used as a deliberate tool for psychological coercion.) I am passionate about protecting all women, but especially the most vulnerable and their beloveds (animals, children, etc.)

The next challenge was to create an ordinary daytime scene with moons hidden in impossible places. Mine was not impossible, but had lots of moons.

For the next one, we were supposed to create a scene of mass invasion in a sci-fi, horror, or fantasy setting (no zombies or robots allowed.) I thought of my sister’s horde of wiener dogs and how when they all run in a pack they are like a swarm of invading aliens. lol

8/7/26 “Dachshund Invasion”

The last challenge of the week was fashion show, only it had to be outrageous. Weird, ugly mix of patterns, sculptured, structural, etc. Worst dressed fashion sort of esthetic. I thought of things like bones, teeth, and eyes that could be really cool.

“Survival of the Fittest” – Darwin never specified how the fittest should dress. Draped in scales, teeth, ancient bones, and watchful eyes, this evolutionary ensemble turns millions of years of adaptation and a few unfortunate extinctions into haute couture. On this runway, we’re all about natural selection.

This first challenge of my week was to use the framing technique of dead space where a portion of the frame is left unoccupied or uninteresting to force the viewer’s eye to the main subject.

7/26/26 “Pool Time”

The next challenge was to create a magical pharmacy. Since Time is the Rarest Medicine, some of the prescriptions are An Unhurried Morning, Childhood (limited Supply), One Long Goodbye, Borrowed Youth, Second Chances, Time to Heal, One Summer Afternoon, and Five More Minutes. Dosage – as needed. Side Effects – No Regrets. Please return borrowed time promptly.

The next challenge was to create an image that included an anthropomorphic animal with their vehicle.

7/28/26 “Ol’ Bubba”

The next day’s challenge was to include a classic horror character from a list of old classics including the one I chose, The Invisible Man. Yes, he’s naked in my image. The horror!

The next challenge was to create a home interior where the furniture, windows, patterns, and objects subtly form one enormous hidden face. Mine won the challenge!

7/30/26 “Hearth & Soul”

Since my “Hearth & Soul” won, I got to make up the next challenge. However, the other AI artists were quite impatient waiting for me. They had already made some art expressing their displeasure that I thought was funny.

I kept it simple and said that today’s challenge must include water and something or someone partially submerged.

7/31/26 “Quiet Waters”

The last challenge of the week had to include a lesser known Marvel or DC character. I chose “Rose Tattoo” who was part of the Wildstorm Universe and is the living incarnation of Murder. Wildstorm was bought by DC, so it counts.

This first challenge of my week was to portray a favorite dream or worst nightmare. I decided to depict one of my recurring dreams of a tornado.

7/19/26 “Nightmare Storm”

The next challenge was to create a character card for a table top game. I worked on a lovely mystical oracle who has the ability to pause time for others so she can act freely while the world stands still. Her alignment is chaotic good, faction – “The Infusers”, and weapon – tea spoon of fate. Tea is not just a drink; it is a doorway. Her greatest strength is intuition, then potioncraft.

7/20/26 “Madame Camellia”

The next challenge was to create an image of a mundane, prosaic scene or perfectly ordinary instance, but make it beautiful and stylized in an Art Nouveau style inspired by Gustave Klimt.

7/21/26 “Waiting for the Bus”

The next day’s challenge was to add one hidden detail into a piece that would change the meaning once discovered. Mine can only be seen if you zoom in on the little girl statue’s face. You will see a blue eye with a tear.

7/22/26 “Crying Girl”

The next description of a contest was really complicated about biophilic AI with a twist of liminal aesthetics and a reality warp. After digging into it all, it seemed to be about nature taking over architecture or vice versa and boundaries between real and fantasy, alien and familiar. I came up with a strange combination that worked for me.

7/23/26 “Reverent Witness”

The next challenge had to include an animal that one might not expect in the given scene. I chose a capybara.

7/24/26 “Storytime”

The last day of the week was to reveal an entire room inside an article of clothing.

Daily AI Art Challenges Week of 7/12/26

This first challenge of my week was to create a comic cover in which a monster was the hero or becomes the hero.

7/12/26 “Worm View”

My Unlikely Hero won the challenge, so I came up with the idea of the following: “Awesome Perspective” Create an image from an unexpected point of view. Think like a photographer and choose a composition that is interesting because of the angle. Examples include worm’s-eye view, bird’s-eye view, aerial, macro, extreme close-up, first-person perspective, looking through an object, reflections, underwater, inside an object, or any other creative viewpoint. Any subject. Any style. Make the perspective the cool thing about the image.

The next one occurred on Bastille Day, so the challenge was to create an image of a moment in history. Suggested examples were Hannibal crossing the Alps, the signing of Magna Carta, or the storming of the Bastille (given today’s date!)

I decided to share the following: In 1914, on Christmas Eve, German forces decorated their trenches with small fir trees and lanterns and began singing carols like Stille Nacht (Silent Night). British troops responded by singing their own carols across the dark landscape. Hesitantly, soldiers from both sides met halfway in the muddy, devastated neutral territory. They traded souvenirs, such as buttons, hats, food, and cigarettes, exchanged seasonal greetings, and ventured into “No Man’s Land” to bury fallen comrades and hold joint burial services.

7/14/26 “1914 Christmas Truce”

The next day’s challenge was called “Modern Renaissance.” We were to make a classic Renaissance-inspired image but with a modern twist.

The next day was challenging because my idea was very confusing for AI. It was to create an image where one impossible thing is happening—but everyone in the scene acts like it is completely ordinary. A whale floating over a grocery store. A giant moon parked beside a house. Make it strange, beautiful, or funny.

The last day of the week was another Renaissance piece. We were to do a Renaissance oil painting art style. Think Dutch Masters or Italian Renaissance images.

Daily AI Art Challenges Week of 7/5/26

My first art challenge on Discord this week was to create an emotive, romantic, atmospheric image that uses a famous artist as a reference. I did some reading about different artists that might lend to a fun romantic style and decided to focus on Marc Chagall. According to Google, “Marc Chagall is known for painting lovers floating in dreamlike, colorful landscapes, frequently featuring couples drifting above towns in moments of pure, peaceful tranquility.”

The next challenge was to bring a mushroom to life as some kind of personification.

7/6/26 “Lion’s Mange Sage”

The next one was called “Through the Looking Glass” inspired by Lewis Carroll. We were to create an image exploring what lies beyond the familiar. Whether mirrors as portals, reflections telling stories, or inside out realities, the image was supposed to be imaginative. It could be fantastical, beautiful, eerie, humorous, or personal. This one took a long time to get any semblance of what I was imagining. My caption said, “Sometimes the reality through the looking glass is what can sustain us through hard times.”

The next day’s challenge was inspired by the sporting season happening around the world, like the World Cup football in the US, Canada, and Mexico, and Wimbledon tennis in the UK. So it was all about balls. Any size, shape, or form of ball could be featured. I’m not sure if mine fully met the requirements, but I decided to go with the way people bet on sports and the silly notion that they would even bet on the size of a bubble gum bubble.

The last day of the week was called “Alone, But Not Lost.” The idea was to create an image featuring a person alone in a wide, open place—any setting that feels vast and quiet. The person should appear calm, strong, and certain of where they are going, not frightened, abandoned, or helpless.

Daily AI Art Challenges Week of 6/28/26

This week’s art challenges took a bit of art and research, so I learned some interesting tidbits of information.

The first challenge of the week was “The Beauty of Decay.” The creator of the challenge loves to explore abandoned buildings like an empty hotel in the Cyprus Mountains, a mafia-related vacant mansion in PortugaI, and a secret soviet ghost town in Latvia. I had the idea to show a crumbling cathedral and was hoping to show a broken statue of Mary and baby Jesus, but AI is programmed not to be disrespectful of religious relics, so it was tricky to get anything like I was imagining.

6/28/26 “Faith Decay”

The next challenge was the great outdoors and could be hiking, camping, hunting, or just exploring nature, but the idea was to demonstrate awe for the majesty of nature.

The next one was called “The Evidence” and challenged us to create an image that makes the viewer wonder, “What happened here?” There is evidence of a happening, but the questions are not necessarily answered. Something strange, mysterious, or magical has occurred.

6/30/26 “Where Are The People?”

The next day’s challenge was inspired by the upcoming July 4^th holiday and the fact that this is an international group, so we were asked to think of something we like about where we are from to share with others about the culture, traditions, history, or food, etc. I thought a long time about something I really like about the ideal of the Texas I am from.

Here is what I wrote along with my image submission: I was born in Texas, and though I am not at all proud of some of the things happening in our politics, schools, and courts, I was raised by good people who love and welcome the well-intentioned with open arms. My family is multi-racial, multi-cultural, and more open-minded than some. I love the old-fashioned gentleness, belief in being a good neighbor, reciprocating kindness, and being part of community. People where I live still tip their hats, wave to strangers, and welcome diversity. I guess it’s those sincere, truly kind values that I am most proud of.

7/1/26 “Howdy Stranger”

Next up was a complex one. It was about Japanese yōkai, which are supernatural entities, spirits, and monsters in Japanese folklore. This one I had to research and finally settled on one I found creepy and fascinating.

Here is what I included with my image submission: According to Google – “A Noppera-bō blends perfectly into human society. It usually positions itself on quiet roads at night with its back turned away from an approaching traveler, often disguised as a distressed young woman crying. When the concerned traveler approaches and asks what is wrong, the yōkai turns around and dramatically wipes its face with its hand, instantly causing its eyes, nose, and mouth to vanish. According to legends, they often work in pairs or groups. If a terrified victim runs away and finds a local merchant or bystander to tell them what happened, that bystander will listen quietly before asking, ‘Did the face look something like this?’—and then wipe away their features too. In many traditional tales, the Noppera-bō is not an independent ghost, but rather the temporary disguise of an animal shape-shifter.”

The next day was challenging and a little dark. The idea was a precipice overlooking a life-and-death-type decision but finding hope in the darkness. It took a ton of tweaking of the models to get what I wanted. The final result was close.

7/3/26 “To Be”

The next day was about zombies and a unique image related to zombies. I thought about the fact that we don’t often see child zombies and had a really hard time getting any of the models to work with me. There are massive restrictions around any artwork depicting kids and horror, so it was complicated.

Daily AI Art Challenges Week of 6/22/26

This week’s art challenges were fun.

The first challenge of the week was “Hear no evil. See no evil. Speak no evil.” And it turned out to be tricky. The AI got very confused trying to put hands and items over three totally different areas (ears, eyes, and mouths.) I went with an underwater scene because I liked the idea of shells, seaweed, fish or something. It took a number of tries, but I was finally able to get a decent one.

6/22/26 “Mermaids: No Hear See Speak”

My mermaid image won! So it was my turn to create a challenge. I went with “Style Mismatch”, which is where the subject should contrast with the chosen style, model, or feel of the finished piece. For instance, Cathulhu using a sweet model like Olafs-Papilloria. Or a sweet little kitten using a dark model like Olafs-Graveborn. These are the two examples I shared.

Everyone came up with really interesting ones. Then the next day we were challenged to the theme of “After Dark.” I went with a ghost child swinging on a playground late at night.

The next day’s challenge was called BALENCIAGA! We were supposed to creatae high fashion with an outfit made from something unexpected, like garbage bags or food. I went with a book theme.

Next up was a vintage challenge that had elements of nostalgia, retro, pin-up, sepia, black-and-white, or similar concepts. Mine was great.

Mine won! It really was a good one. I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I got to create the next day’s idea. I chose the idea of an image featuring a being with a disability or an assistive device as a natural part of the scene. Wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, canes, walkers, crutches, hearing aids, service animals, communication devices, adaptive sports equipment, and other accessibility tools are all welcome. The focus is on inclusion and of course must be respectful. Here was my example:

I bought the Sceptre Curved 24-inch gaming monitor1080p R1500 98% sRGB HDMI x2 VGA Buid-in speakers, VESA Wall Mount Machine Black (C248W-19204N Series) – the sound is not very good, but I like the visuals for the work I do, and it was $84.97 on Amazon. I bought the Hiearcool USB C Hub, USB C Multi-Port Adapter, 7in1 Dongle Compatible for MacBook Pro, Chromebooks, etc. for $18.84 on Amazon. It seems to be working fine. I also bought the Logitech MK295 Wireless Mouse & Keyboard Combo with SilentTouch Technology, full number pad, lag-free wireless, 90% less noise for $29.99 on Amazon. I like them well enough and must have a number pad on my keyboards, so I like this one. I also got a LORYERGO Laptop Stand for Desk to make more room and have a better angle on the Chromebook for $12.74 on Amazon. This one is wonderful. I think it is helping with neck pain, too. Lastly, I got a SUPERDANNY power strip surge protector with 22 AC outlets and 6 USB charging ports for $27.99 on Amazon. It is a bit of overkill, but I was sick of not having enough outlets for things. Oh, and for back comfort, I use my cat as a lumbar pillow. He is not for sale.
