(Poem 54 for 2024 – I am writing a poem a day)
“I learned a new trick to make the world look brighter.” – Erica Smith

“I learned a new trick to
make the world look brighter.”
Literally, press on your eyeballs
and when you release,
everything in your field of vision
will look a little lighter.
You can also take a nap or
drink a full glass of water.
Pet your cat, walk your dog,
sit under a tree, laugh.
And if all else fails, go to bed
because tomorrow is a new
day with no mistakes in it yet.
