Daily AI Art Challenges Week of 9/13/26

Today’s challenge was a unique one. We had to pretend we were entering an art exhibition at our local county fair. It needed to be the type of art we might legitimately see in a local show.

The next challenge had to depict an ordinary place where someone has just left, but without showing a person. The viewer should be able to sense what happened within the last five minutes without being told. We were also supposed to show strong negative space, exquisite material textures, cinematic natural light, and museum-quality finish.

The next challenge was to choose a character or object (named in the caption) and hide it in a confusing image.

Today’s challenge was “Dreary Hallucination”. We had to create a hallucinatory painting utilizing rain as a foreground for the scene. We had to include surreal elements and melancholy.

Mine won, so I made up the next challenge. I chose “Bath Time”. Everybody has to get clean somehow.

Create an original artwork centered around bathing, washing, grooming, or cleansing. Explore how humans bathe across cultures, places, and periods of history; how animals clean themselves or care for their young; or leave reality behind and invent a bathing ritual for a creature, alien, monster, god, robot, or civilization that has never existed.

Your bath can be beautiful, funny, tender, luxurious, messy, strange, ceremonial, futuristic, historical, wild, or completely beyond imagination. Think beyond the ordinary bathtub—hot springs, rivers, rain, steam rooms, communal baths, waterfalls, dust baths, mud wallows, grooming rituals, magical pools, zero-gravity water, or something nobody has thought of yet.

A few examples:

🐦 Sparrows enthusiastically bathing in a city fountain after a rainstorm

🐴 A cowboy washing his horse in a shallow river after a dusty journey

🧚 Tiny fairies bathing inside dew-filled flowers at sunrise

👽 Aliens whose cleansing ritual involves floating inside enormous spheres of shimmering liquid

🤖 A robot entering an automated cleaning chamber where mechanical brushes polish every joint

(My model for this image was Dr. Karen Nyberg, who is an engineer, astronaut, and artist. She went to space twice, once for 166 days, and I saw a video of her showing us how she washes her hair with water blobs in space.)

And here are some of the honorable mentions that I did not submit, but still published on my art website:
