This week’s prompt challenge was to combine two contrasting art styles into one cohesive image. I decided to try to combine surrealism with the style of Norman Rockwell’s nostalgic Americana. It was quite difficult and took a very long time.

“Surreal Normal Rockwell”

Platform – Gencraft; Model – Olafs-Asian Gaze 40%; Style – 3D

Prompt: Warm nostalgic 1950s Asian-American magazine illustration in the style of Norman Rockwell fused with dreamlike surrealism. A cozy family Sunday dinner, expressive faces, warm amber light. Handsome middle-aged Father proudly carves a small glowing cratered full moon on a platter. Elderly Grandma pours from a coffee pot, but a miniature ocean with rolling waves and tiny sailboat flows onto the table. Children secretly feed glowing stars to an eager family dog under the table. Pretty Mother carries a swirling galaxy in a pie pan. Steam rises from a bowl of rice and becomes real clouds near the ceiling; a soup bowl contains a bubble bath and little yellow rubber duckies in it. Saturn is in the sky outside the kitchen window. Midcentury domestic nostalgia colliding seamlessly with bizarre cosmic surrealism. Detailed oil painting, classic American illustration, visible canvas texture, highly expressive, emotive faces, theatrical, lifelike body poses.
